HBO Max problems affect ‘Game of Thrones’ spin-offs according to George R.R. Martin: None of them were greenlit

The author himself wrote on his blog that for more projects to come out of the fantasy saga, they’re counting on approval from HBO Max.

“I hope Casterly Rock doesn’t stay offstage forever,” he added. “I have two more novels, and my plan is for one or more of my point of view characters to visit The Rock in The Winds of Winter or A Dream of Spring, so that I may show you all the wonders and horrors and treasures of House Lannister firsthand.”

The author is said to have a net worth of $120 millionmore than enough to set his pen – or keyboard – and live out the rest of his days in comfort.

But that hasn’t stopped him from continuing his work, as he says he’s working on “a lot of bloody stuff” that “might soon explode off his head.”
